Pimples and Acne

8. High in vitamin A and iron, barley can be mixed with milk and egg, to make face masks. Barley, which has been boiled, can also be used as an excellent scrub for oily skins.

9. Put egg whites all over your face (like a mask)..egg whites are driers and will remove all the impurities from your face.leave it on until every spot is dry (depends on the type of skin you have) it works so well. Use for 2-3 days or continue use. It works wonders. If you only have 1 day then use it once. it may not disappear but it will bring it way down and remove redness. It makes you skin super soft too!

10. High in vitamin A and iron, barley can be mixed with milk and egg, to make face masks. Barley, which has been boiled, can also be used as an excellent scrub for oily skins.

11. Exercise.. Exercise.. Exercise.. Exercise keeps the body continuously working, and improving. The better shape your body is in, the less stress it has. Less stress = less acne.

12. Pick the RIGHT skin care product! If you have oily skin DO NOT USE PRODUCT THAT DRIES YOUR SKIN!!! These products will help remove current pimples, but the body in turn produces MORE oil since your skin is so much drier and results in more clogged pores (acne)!

13. Drink lots of water. Not only does drinking lots of water help regulate toxins out of the body, but promotes good health anyways. Drinking lots of water has an effect on acne because the more efficient your body is running, the better it can fight those infections in your pores!

14. Eat healthy! Sorry folks, but greasy foods are not good - for anything. Not only do they raise our cholesterol levels and make our butts bigger, but they provide the extra oil and grease to clog our pores.

Ease Motion Sickness !!

Snacking on protein-rich foods can help your condition. Experts suggest keeping some almonds, pistachios and cashews handy while travelling. If you have an empty stomach, you are likely to feel sick. Instead munch on high protein snacks every few hours.

Few Tricks to make the journey a little more comfortable :

1) Its an age-old remedy but ginger can really help with motion sickness. Try purchasing ginger candy or simply pick up a ginger root from your kitchen. it can help with nausea from motion sickness, pregnancy or even an upset stomach. Another option is sipping on some ginger tea.

2) Sometimes motion sickness can be brought on by being in an enclosed space like an air-plane or a bus. Keeping an open window whenever possible can help. The fresh breeze can help ease symptoms and will get rid of any nauseating smells that may be in the car or bus.

3) Avoid eating very heavy or oily foods before travelling. This can initiate an upset stomach. Instead stick to a light meal of crackers, vegetables and non-acidic fruits. Carrying a min-flavoured chewing gum or candy can also help. If you have just eaten, avoid sleeping for at least half an hour, till the food is digested.

4) Where you site while travelling is equally important. Position yourself is such a way that you are not at the rear end of the bus which is the most bumpy. Sitting in the front seat with the windows rolled down can help with motion sickness. Try looking out the forward facing window rather than a side window. if flying, request a seat near the wings which may provide a smoother ride. Similarly, when on sea, ask the captain which part of the boat will be the most comfortable.

GYMMING OR OVERGYMMING

YOGA -
Exercising with machines injures muscles and is not beneficial in the long run. Yoga works on your physical, mental emotional and spiritual levels while gymming works only on the physical body.

CARDIO -
Its foolish for a middle-aged person to hit the gym and start working out with weights and doing heavy exercised, If you are in your 20s, then you can do it. Above 30, you need to consult a doctor first and get prescribed physical activity appropriate to your heart's status.

ENDO -
Maximum physical exercise advisable is 45 minutes - above that, does not help to lose weight, and also put unnecessary strain on your body. For optimum heart health you need to relax and take it easy. Smile more.

PSYCH -
Gymming is good as regular exercise helps prevent obesity and increases endorphins. But obsessive gymming can lead to hypertension and weakness.

7 Fast, No-Fuss Ways to Eat Smarter

Too busy to make sure you're eating foods that are good for you? No sweat! Try our no-frills approach to healthy eating.

Get sneaky. That is, sneak fruits and vegetables — excellent sources of disease-fighting vitamins, fiber, minerals, antioxidants and phytochemicals — into the foods you already eat.

Top off your morning cereal or yogurt, for example, with blueberries, peaches and the like. Add finely chopped carrots, broccoli and kale to pasta sauces, meat loaf, soups and salads.

While you're at it, experiment with exotic fruits, such as papaya, mango, melon and fresh pineapple. These tropical fruits are especially potent sources of antioxidants.

Check your iron intake. Iron helps carry oxygen to the blood and deliver it to cells. Without enough iron on board, you're apt to feel sluggish and fatigued. To up your iron intake if needed, consume a vitamin C-rich food, such as orange or tomato juice, with meals.

Down some veggies. Another no-fuss way to eat more veggies? Besides offering disease-fighting nutrients, most vegetable juices are blends, so they provide more unique combinations of vegetables that you might not otherwise eat. A varied diet maximizes your body's arsenal of health-promoting nutrients.

Milk those calcium moments Choose calcium-fortified juice instead of the regular version — you'll get as much calcium (300 milligrams) as you would in a glass of milk (although milk has more nutrients, particularly vitamin D, which helps absorb calcium). Make oatmeal and other hot cereals with skim milk instead of water, and switch to skinny lattes (2/3 skim milk, 1/3 strong coffee) instead of regular coffee.

Don't bypass beans at the salad bar. They're an underrated source of disease-fighting fiber, as well as a great source of iron, protein and folate, the last of which is especially important for women of child-bearing age, says Busch. Studies show that a diet high in fiber can even help keep your weight in check. Use canned, rinsed beans in salads, and incorporate them into soups, stews and sauces.

Choose fish. Eating fish two to three times a week is better — so why not grill some up, or make a filet in minutes in your broiler pan. Fish, especially coldwater fish like salmon, is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acid, the heart-healthy fat that helps lower LDL (or "bad") cholesterol. Eating more fish may also reduce your cancer risk, and even lower your blood pressure.

EATING DINNER ON THE SOFA WHILE WATCHING TELEVISION

Yoga - Its the worst thing to do  to your system as violence or sadness on TV is ingested with food. Sitting at the table is fine, but i's best to sit cross-legged on the floor. Vajrasana (picture below ) post dinner for 5-10 minutes aids digestion.

Cardio - Scientifically, i cannot say how one eats or where affects the heart

Endo - TV dinners are killer dinners - they are full of calorie excess. Traditionally, sitting on the floor cross-legged is good for digestion.

Psych - People eat more while watching TV. If it's a regular habit, the risks of obesity-related heart concerns are higher.

Everyday Health Triggers Series

LONG COMMUTES

Yoga - The stress buils anxiety. Chanting something, deep conscious breathing or the Hridayamudra help heal the heart.

Hridaya Mudra
This mudra diverts the flow of energy from the hands to the heart area. The middle and ring fingers relate directly to nadis connected to the heart, while the thumb closes the pranic circuit and acts as an energiser, diverting the flow of prana from the hands to these nadis. Hridaya mudra helps to release pent up emotion and unburden the heart.

Cardio - Daily stress all adds up. reading or listening to music take your mind off the stress and soothes.

Endo - If your commute involves a brisk walk, it is good. If the commute is more than one hour it cuts down your sleep time, is a sedentary activity and adds to hypertension. Listen to music - it lessens stress.

Psych - Long commutes can result in high blood pressure, anger and resentment. The key is to take your mind off it - enjoy music or the view around to relax.
